मोहिनी नाम सा ज्ञेया4 वर्णेला सप्तमी शुभा ॥101 ४६६॥

लाटकर्णाटगौडान्ध्रद्रविडानां स्वभाषया ।

४५अन्त्यप्राससमायुक्ताअत: मध्यादिप्रासवर्जिता ।
रसैर्भावैश्च संयुक्ता लाटैला परिकीर्तिता ॥४६८॥

प्रासैर्मनोहरैर्दिव्यैरादिमध्यान्तगोचरै:।
एला कर्णाटिका प्रोक्ता ललितध्वनिसंयुता ॥7 ४६९॥

Comprised of five padas, endowed with mūrchanā gamaka 74 (?) the seventh varņailā should be known as mohinī104, the auspicious one.1

The charming and systematic elās become distinct with the respective languages of (regions like) Lāṭa, 75 Karnāṭa, 6 Gauda, 77 Āndhra 78 (and) Dravida.2 79

Lāṭailā is said to have rhyme (antyaprāsa)80 and is devoid of middle alliteration3,81 being combined with rasas and bhāvas.6

Having alliteration everywhere, devoid of gamakas and endowed with nāda, bindu83 and rasa, that is the elā born of gauḍadeśa.
