BŖHADDEŚI इति गीत्यध्याये प्रतिपादितम्¹। यथा- [ दक्षिणे चत्वारो गुरवः, द्वौ गुरू, एको गुरु। वार्तिके द्वौ गुरू,

एको गुरु, एको लघु। ] चित्र एको गुरु, एको लघु, एको द्वुतः।

[ध्रुवे शून्याद् द्विगुणः स्याच्चित्रे स्याद् द्विगुणो ध्रुवात् ।]

चित्रद्विगुणो वृत्तौ तद्द्विगुणो दक्षिणे तथा² ॥१८२॥ एक,

English — Sharma (translation)

(The duration of one temporal unit) in dhruva (mārga) is the double of that in śūnya (mārga), in citra (mārga) it is the double of that in dhruva (mārga), in vṛtti (mārga) it is the double of that in citra (mārga), and in dakṣiṇa (mārga) it is

the double of that in (vṛtti - mārga). The kalā is composed of half a mātrā in śūnya-mārga³, of one mātrā in dhruva- mārga, of two mātrās in citra mārga⁵, of four mātrās in vārtika mārga⁶, and it has been said by the knowledgeable ones to be of eight mātrās in dakṣiṇa (mārga).⁷ (183, 184) (Thus end the pada - gitis)⁸
